for those out there that play with figures we can calulate the number that have joined and left but how does the number that have left over say twenty years compare to the numbers still in.
are we starting to out number them in some places?

strategy" post a few days ago, i mentioned how i was afraid that my j.w.
sister-in-law might be working on my non-j.w.
daughter, using "obligatory reasons" to lure her into the j.w.
i am happy for u... it's good when people realize something that's bad for them before they experience it.
the september 1, 2005, wt, page 26, reported that mennenite families in bolivia were expelled from their religion.
"this was a cruel blow indeed.
the cart belonging to the colony cheese factory passed by the home of one family without collecting their milk, denying them their only source of income.
maybe it was an apostate writer in brooklyn that wrote that particular article and he wanted to get his point across with the statement "a cruel blow indeed"
i think i could have made a connection from this article to jw's shunning df'd ones even if i was still a jw myself

dear lurkers/trolls or whatever you consider yourselves to be,.
how can you read all of the info on this forum regarding un scandal, alleged paedophilia, failed prophecies, u-turn on blood etc.
and not have your conscience affected before jehovah.
this is the problem with communicating IN TYPE... it's hard to tell the inflection and tone in ones words. i don't think anyone said anything wrong except it was taken wrongly.
as a side note peggy, there are more than one JEDI MASTER and NEWBIE on this board... so if you'd like to address someone, address them by their name so as to avoid confusion

i am not a jw.
in a paper that i'm writing, i use an example of an adult jw who refuses to consent to a blood transfusion.
what do jw's believe?
i was raised a JW and have witnessed other JW's being forced to either accept a blood transfusion, or to allow their children to receive a blood transfusion. from what i have seen and heard, they do not punish the person(s) involved and there is no ostricism by others in the congregation towards that person.

just back from the assembly.. for those who care: we had 14 young souls who were assimilated in the borg.. some old stuff, though.
stupid examples etc.. they seem to renew the ban on higher education though.
everyday at least two examples or idications that we should not seek higher education.
yes, all those serving jehovah use the same terminology... otherwise, how could it be called the pure language? admittedly, brothers and sisters do make mistakes from time to time and call the district conventions 'assemblies'... it won't be until the new system of things where God makes "all things new" that there won't be mistakes like that made.

i know what "apostate" means to most of the world.
i am interested in the jw perspective.
i grew up a jw, but was never baptised.
ACCORDING TO MOST ACTIVE WITNESSES, YOU ARE AN APOSTATE. IF YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE "TRUTH" AND GO AGAINST IT, YOU ARE AN APOSTATE. YOU DONT NEED TO HAVE BEEN BAPTIZED. JUST YOUR KNOWING THAT IT IS THE TRUTH AND NOT FAITHFULLY FOLLOWING WHAT YOU HAVE LEARNED FROM THE FAITHFUL AND DISCREET SLAVE MAKES YOU AN APOSTATE.

i'm nena, the wife of tms, who used to post in this forum.
i'm posting a letter i wrote to my younger sister yesterday.
i caught her and my one-year older sister selling my furniture at a garage sale.
wow, reading that made my blood boil. i can't imagine how mad i would be in your situation. their morality is based on whether they can be tried by the elders for what they did... and since the elders ignore you, your family can have a clean conscience. isn't that wonderful?

i used to hate hearing the expression "we're all in the same boat".
usually it came up in conversation when you were discussing the state of the world and financial affairs, etc.
i used to particularly hate it when it came from somebody (usually an elder) who had a business and a great deal of money.
people who use expressions like "we're all in the same boat" are unsympathetic, ignorant people. even if two people experience similar circumstances, the way they receive and feel those circumstances is usually very different.
